Hawaii honeymoon plans?

We have a friend who sweetly is getting us a week stay in a couple timeshare resorts for our honeymoon. We scheduled it all today! We are staying 4 days in Honolulu by Waikiki Beach and 3 days in Princeville, Kauai. We are looking at fun excursions and things to do while in both places. We are definitely doing skydiving in Honolulu
!! My question is, have you been to or heard of any great places that you’d recommend around Honolulu or Princeville??

we went to waikiki for our honeymoon and i will tell you what i DO NOT recommend. any of the luaus. they are really cheesy and the food is gross. you would be better off going to a really expensive restaurant. they take you to a remote part of the island and it is all power plants and you feel like you are being exposed to chemicals.

If you like to snorkel, or want to learn, the perfect place is a protected area on Oahu called Hanama Bay. It’s beautiful, the fish are plentiful, and the surf is very gentle. I believe it only cost around ten dollars a person.
We went to a Luau at Germaine’s, and you did have to drive through an industrial area as I recall. It’s on the beach though, and the food was fantastic, and the hosts were very friendly.
Finally, if you need “more” exercise…wink wink, then take a hike up Diamond Head. It doesn’t take very long, little old ladies do it, and the view from the top is breathtaking.

I lived in Hawaii, once you’re there, you’ll see the turisty things to do are all over the place, people from the hotel will be glad to help you out.

In Kauai I like to go on zip line tours. There are fun water tube tours through the old sugar cane irrigation channels. Sounds weird but it’s basically like a water park’s lazy river mixed with a Pirates of the Caribbean feel with a fun history lesson. Snorkeling is always a plus. In Princeville there are some really good restaurants. It’s really small town and I’ve been to every restaurant there so anything you try is going to be good. But try to go to the other side of the island too and check out Popu area. It’s the sunny side of the island. It’s nice in Princeville but it gets more of the clouds and rain in the afternoon. Roy’s bar and grill near Popu is amazing! I highly recommend that place.

I just got back from Kauai (my second trip). If you’re a novice snorkeler, Poipu beach and Lydgate have terrific, protected snorkeling. Take a catamaran tour down the Napali coast. I’ve done this twice (once from the north, and once from the south), and it’s great. We went hiking in Waimea canyon — pretty spectacular, and worth the drive. Roy’s in Poipu is good (but expensive). Kintaro in Lihue was overpriced and mediocre (notwithstanding what the guidebooks say).
