Wow congrats on doing the whole 22 miles! We only did the hike to the beach we were going to hike to the falls but it started down pouring so we turned back. Before we started the trail that day we talked to someone who had done the 22 miles numerous times and hiked it that day. He started at 9:00 AM and got back at 3:00 PM. I highly recommend the hike! Great video btw!
Having lived in Hawaii for 15 years & hiked in many of your sacred lands where “hauole’s” are not allowed to go I’ve learned this: Once there you will always find a HUGE PILE of TRASH that your “people” somehow are unable to carry out in their monster trucks. Go lecture your own people. Better yet, get off your lazy a** & go pick-up all the trash your “family” dumped on your “sacred land”.
1 ur a fucking gnark
2 hawaii isnt a place thats supposed to be concealed
3 its not hauoles its haoles
4 if u noticed only 6750 ppl watched it as of 4/21
5 not everyone from the mainland has the same attitude towards nature (theres trees there too u know)
6 ur not very good at the whole aloha spirit bit that hawaii is known for (i should know i live here) and as an avid backpacker this video shows the best parts of the trail which u probably dont know about because u probably just sit at home…
Great video! Couldn’t make it down to the beach since it rained so much the 10 mile stream was a ragin’ river! But got a great overview of the trail on the way back. Beautiful and I wish I had more time to spend back there. Next time!
Why u expose’n such sacred valley of our ancestors to the millions of people on utube. U should get ur *** beat! Fuk’n hauole’s cant leave the land alone. Oh yeah! take a helicopter tour, chase all the native birds out of thier homes. NO RESPECT! for the people of this land and thier cultural rights! You fuk’n hauoles come and bring ur mainland attitudes here, thats why u left the mainland, come here and learn to live like the kauaians do and the land will be cherished. If not dont fuk’n come!!
no i live in sedona, but ive been to kalalau about 30 times or so in the last 11 years.. i was there in november.. i will, say, though, that it was quite a feat to hike the trail twice in 24 hours, and though i enjoyed your video, it really honors the sacred land more NOT take take such equipment..

Bra-vo! Although I agree to some degree with taragolden and BatuSmoka808, it was one damn fine little video. Great Job!

I can’t agree with you more! The video called for a quick trip, but I am headed back this March to stay for a while. Do you live on the islands?

no offence, but i think you missed the whole point to hike in and out in 24 hours.. stay back there a while.. it takes more time to experience it..
